OVERVIEW

Do you want to learn how to extend the life cycle of your products and avoid the decline stage? In this interactive video, we'll dive into product life-cycle extension strategies. We'll start by recapping the stages of the product life-cycle, including the Research and Development Stage, Introduction stage, Growth stage, Maturity stage, and Decline stage. You'll see examples of products that are in each stage, like Virgin Galactic, the Epic Games Store, Instagram, Facebook, and 3D Televisions.

Our main example throughout the video will be Candy Flakes, a cereal brand manufactured by Tasty Snack Foods LTD, which has recently experienced a decline in sales. Prisha Kapoor, the lead Marketing officer for the company, is tasked with finding an extension strategy to keep the product in the maturity stage or return it to the growth stage.

By the end of the video, you'll have a comprehensive understanding of product life-cycle extension strategies and how they can be applied by businesses. Join me on this journey to learn the essential skills needed to extend your future product's life cycle and achieve sustainable growth.

  • The interactive case study explores the success story of Xbox 360, a home video game console developed by Microsoft and released in 2005, which competed with other industry giants such as Sony’s PlayStation 3 and Nintendo’s Wii console. Over the console's 8-year life span, it had several evolutions, including the Elite and Arcade versions, and the addition of the Kinect motion sensor controller, making it one of the fastest-selling computer hardware products at the time.
